WARNING!! CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Have you ever read a book or watched something on TV that made you wonder what the characters where up to while you were not watching their story unfold? I have *raises hand*.
I have anxiously waited for the final season of Game of Thrones to start for 2 YEARS you all. That was 730 days of wondering how Jon was going to react to being told he is the true Targaryen heir. Better yet, how was Daenerys going to take this information once she found out? Her entire goal since Season 1 has been to take the Iron Throne back and has eliminated almost every enemy she needs to in order to get there.
We are only 2 episodes in and everything has been very upbeat & heartwarming. All the characters we have grown to love are finally reuniting under these dire circumstances. (DIRE. Hah. Get it? Dire-wolf?) Which we all know will not last. If George R.R. Martin has shown us anything, it's that he will kill off your favorite character & not think twice about it.
However, I did love the fact that it was Sam and not Bran that told Jon about who his parents truly were. Not that I do not like Bran's character I just feel as if it meant more to Jon coming from Sam since they have been through more together. I do not believe he would have been as quick to believe Bran if it was him that delivered the message. Oh and we finally got to see him ride Rhaegal! I know I was not the only one that was hoping to see that happen so I am glad the writers satiated our need for that. Thanks for also letting us know our Wildling & Nights Watch friends are alive. For now at least.
The fact that we have gone through 2 episodes without incident only make we worry for the 3rd episode. The run time is supposed to be a little over the regular hour show time so I am hoping that they do not shove too much in this one as well as the three extended episodes to follow. I loved that they wrapped up all the reunions (I am really on the Arya & Gendry train), but I can not help but feel as if they tried to put too much in both episodes. It felt a little rushed.
NOW not only does Jon know that his real name is Aegon Targaryen & Ned Stark was really his UNCLE, he has told Daenerys whose reaction was not the nicest but was honestly expected for me. I have always had a soft spot for her character but I also have always been worried about that I call the crazy gene. The Targaryen bloodline is full of incest. Cousins marrying cousins. Brother marrying sister. Based off of what I have read in the books & watched from the show, I believe that this crazy gene could have possibly skipped Rhaegar & ended up in his two younger siblings Daenerys & Viserys.
So....what do you think she do about Jon now technically being a threat to her crown? Will she accept that Jon is the rightful heir to the 7 Kingdoms? Or try to kill him? I have so many questions after every episode as always. The game has begun & winter is here y'all.
Until later folks,
Anastasia
