For those that know me on a personal level, know that I over the years I have become less and less of a fan of people taking pictures of me. As a kid I can not remember a time where my mother did not dress me up every few weeks in a frilly dress with lacy socks or a sweater suit to take pictures. You 90's babies know exactly what I am talking about. I hated it and most kids do but hey your family needs pictures of you right?

It wasn't until a few months ago that I got over my childhood hate of taking pictures (because I needed headshots going into the film/theatre industry & all) but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for some basic pictures. Luckily I already followed a few different photographers on my Instagram (@ananabrel), it was just choosing the right one for me.

I went to MTSU with Samantha Hearn and had been following her IG (@sammyhearn) for a while. After a few scheduling differences we were finally able to get a session scheduled. Now I will be honest, I did not know what to expect because I have not taken pictures in a while, so I went in with no expectations. Sam has her place of business tucked away in the quiet corners of Germantown in Nashville, TN. I was instantly greeted with a hug like I had been a family member she had not seen in ages. Being southern, hospitality is everything to me. Not wanting to get caught in the rain, she did the outside shots first and then back inside for the rest. I have never had a photographer make me feel so comfortable in my own skin. Sam was my own personal hype man during our session and made the process way easier and a lot less nerve wracking on us both.

If you are looking for a photographer that can make you feel comfortable in your own skin, cares about the quality AND quantity of your pictures with some cool edits (who also does NOT charge an arm and a leg) check her out!
