West Fork Trail (Smyrna, TN)

Updated: Feb 23, 2021

If you’re in the Smyrna area and are just looking for a spot to dip off where you can bring your boat out to & fish OR fish on the side of Percy Priest Lake, check out this spot.

There is a boat ramp at the end of the road (9012 Florence Road, Smyrna, TN), providing easy access to the water. If you are not paying attention, it is easy to drive by the hiking trail by the main entrance. Since my time was limited, I did not get to explore the full trail. I did notice an abandoned homeless shelter or two, so I would not go without someone being with you. Furthermore, I do not suggest this trail for dogs. There is a lot of litter and glass on this trail; the last thing you need is a puppy with glass in their foot or an upset belly. However, I loved being able to look at the water from the top of the cliffs off of the trail. There are people that cliff jump here, but it is NOT suggested. The locals have told me there are sinkholes in the earth under the water, making it extremely dangerous. It also wouldn’t hurt to have a walking stick. Being this close to the water, I have come across a snake or two and was grateful for my walking (aka beating) stick to fend them off.

What are some of for favorite walking trails and parks in Tennesse?

Until next time,

Anastasia
